# From idea to a product people pay for, in weeks.

Source: https://cruxlabs.com.au/services/mvp-development

We test the idea with real customers first, then build only what they will use. An MVP is the smallest real product that proves people will use and pay for it. We validate it, build it in real code with measurement built in, and launch it, so you learn from customers instead of a deck. Built in Melbourne, working Australia-wide.

## The problem: Most ideas die in a deck or a two-year build.

- The deck never meets a real customer, so nobody learns whether they would pay.
- The two-year build ships every feature except the one people wanted.
- The no-code version works until the first real customer needs something it cannot do.

## How it runs: Three steps, each with a decision at the end.

1. **Test the idea** (1 to 2 weeks). Customer interviews, a clickable prototype and a cost model. Decide: build it, change it or stop.
2. **Build the first version** (6 to 10 weeks). Real code you own, with payments and measurement built in from day one. Decide: launch to whom, and when.
3. **Launch and improve** (Ongoing). Release, measure, and change what the numbers say. Decide: we run it, or you take the keys.

**Already run a tool your peers would pay for?** We turn the system your business runs on into a product other businesses subscribe to. One of our chauffeur systems is on that path now. [Productise it](https://cruxlabs.com.au/contact)

## Our own MVP · PropyChat: We incubate our own ideas first.

PropyChat started as an idea in January 2026. It now answers Victorian planning questions, works out what can be built on a block, and is in early access, launching with organisations soon.

- **4.1M+**: Vic properties · Sept 2026.
- **9 months**: First line of code to early access.

## Terms

- **Fixed fee** (standard). A fixed price per step, agreed before the step starts. You own the code and the IP outright.
- **Incubation partnership** (selective · one or two a year). A reduced fee in exchange for a share of the business, for founders with a tested idea in a market we know. Terms are set out in writing before any work starts.

## Questions

**How much does an MVP cost in Australia?**
Each step has a fixed price, agreed before it starts. Testing the idea is the smallest step; the build is quoted once we know what it needs.

**How long does an MVP take?**
Usually 6 to 10 weeks of build after 1 to 2 weeks of validation.

**Do you take equity?**
Rarely. Fixed fee is the standard. For one or two ideas a year, with a tested idea in a market we know, we take a reduced fee in exchange for a share of the business, set out in writing before any work starts.

**Who owns the IP?**
You do, on a fixed fee. Partnership terms say so in writing.

## Bring the idea. We will tell you straight if it is worth building.
